THE IDEAS of HENRY GEORGE in an ALTERNATIVE POLITICAL ECONOMY

                 EXCURSION TO THE GANTOUW PASS

Saturday 31 October

Martin Etsebeth gave a fascinating presentation about the Gantouw Pass several weeks ago. This was the pass used by ox wagons to cross the Hottentots-Holland mountains before the Sir Lowry’s Pass was built. Martin has agreed to lead a visit to the pass.

A mini bus has been rented for the occasion. Meet at the Catholic Church Hall (CCH) at 08:00 for 08:30 departure. (Early departure to avoid heat of the day during the ascent.) Drive to the access gate near Sir Lowry’s Pass. Hike up the steep incline to the outlook point. Time for views and explanations. Bring your own drinks and snacks. Depart at 14:00 with arrival at the CCH approximately 15:00.

The access route is 3,1 km and is a steep and uneven trail. Members with walking disability should not participate. Walking stick and hat recommended.

Cost: R125 per person. Capacity limited. Book a seat by sending an email to G. Claassen at gc2441@gmail.com. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will be advised how to pay by EFT.
